KPV, short for Lysine-Proline-Valine, is a core tripeptide fragment of the natural hormone α-MSH (melanocyte-stimulating hormone) that retains its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities. Storage Conditions
Freeze-dried powder (unopened): Long-term storage -20℃ (recommended) or -80℃, protected from light and dry, stable for 1-2 years; short-term (≤6 months) refrigeration at 2-8℃.
After reconstitution (aqueous solution): Refrigerate at 2-8°C, protected from light. It is recommended to use within 7-14 days. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles are strictly prohibited. Some literature states that it can be stored for up to 30 days at 4°C, but activity will decrease.
White or off-white powder. Dissolve slowly along the wall of the container with sterile water or PBS, gently rotating – do not vortex vigorously. Although tripeptides are stable, avoid disturbing them.
Precautions:
For research use only. No standard regimens exist for oral/topical/enema administration. Use at your own risk.
Cautions for systemic administration: High-dose intravenous/subcutaneous animal studies may show transient blood pressure fluctuations. Hypertensive patients should avoid systemic administration.
Precautions for local use: Avoid open wounds with large bleeding when using externally; enemas should only be administered at the research model concentration, do not increase the dosage arbitrarily.
Contraindications: Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, minors, and those with a known history of peptide allergy should avoid use (no human safety data available).
While there is minimal controversy surrounding its carcinogenicity, it's worth noting that there is currently no clear evidence of tumorigenesis. However, the use of any immunomodulatory agent should be avoided unless absolutely necessary in individuals with active malignant tumors.
