High-purity EPO (branded) 3000 IU/vial – Peptide For Research Use – Supplier From China

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by interstitial fibroblasts in the human kidney under conditions of hypoxia. Endogenous EPO was isolated in 1977, and the human EPO gene was cloned in 1985; subsequently, industrial-scale production was achieved using recombinant DNA technology in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. In 1989, Epoetin alfa (marketed as Epogen/Procrit) received FDA approval for clinical use in treating anemia associated with chronic renal failure, chemotherapy, or HIV, as well as for perioperative autologous blood collection. Following this, long-acting analogs—such as Darbepoetin alfa—were introduced to the market, establishing EPO as one of the most successful biopharmaceutical products.

Product Introduction

Application Scenarios | Clinical → Performance
Legitimate Medical Use
Renal anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease or those undergoing dialysis
Anemia induced by cancer chemotherapy
Preoperative autologous blood collection (to reduce the need for allogeneic transfusions)
Anemia associated with certain HIV treatments

Sports and High-Intensity Training
Endurance sports: Long-distance running, cycling, triathlon, trail running, swimming
Bodybuilding/Strength training: Recovery following high-volume, high-intensity training; enhancement of aerobic capacity; improved cardiorespiratory endurance during contest preparation
Adjunct to simulated high-altitude training (requires medical monitoring)

⚠️ WADA classifies recombinant EPO as an S2-category doping agent (peptide hormones, growth factors, and related substances), which is prohibited in competitive sports at all times.

Physical/Biochemical Mechanism

Endogenous EPO: A 165-amino acid glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 18 kDa (increasing to ~30 kDa after glycosylation).
Target site: The EPO receptor (EPO-R) on erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow.
Signaling pathway: EPO-R → JAK2 → STAT5 / PI3K → leads to the proliferation, differentiation, and anti-apoptosis of erythroid precursors.
Outcome: Increased reticulocyte count → increased red blood cell (RBC) count → increased hemoglobin → enhanced oxygen-carrying capacity → improved VO₂max and endurance.

In simple terms:
EPO does not directly build muscle; rather, it increases the amount of oxygen available to the muscles.

Potential Benefits in Bodybuilding/Training

Under proper medical supervision and careful blood volume management, athletes typically focus on the following:
Stronger aerobic foundation: Faster recovery between heavy sets; preservation of muscle mass during aerobic conditioning for contest prep.
Increased training capacity: Greater tolerance for high-intensity sets, supersets, and metabolic stress training.
Improved recovery: Enhanced tissue oxygenation, leading to reduced delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and slower accumulation of fatigue.
Competitive advantage: Pushing back the "cardiorespiratory collapse" point during low-calorie phases, making the dieting process more manageable.
Synergy with altitude/hypoxic training: Works in tandem with altitude masks or hypoxic chambers.

However, it must be emphasized:
The benefits of EPO are derived from an optimal balance between "red blood cell mass" and "hemorheological safety"-more is not necessarily better.

Important Considerations Regarding Diet and Medication
1. Diet
Ensure adequate iron stores: If serum iron, transferrin saturation, or ferritin levels are insufficient, the efficacy of EPO will be poor.
Supplementation: Heme iron or ferrous bisglycinate, combined with Vitamin C; include Vitamin B12 and folic acid if necessary.
Avoid chronic dehydration: Dehydration further increases blood viscosity.
Maintain a high-protein intake while keeping salt intake moderate; control sodium levels to minimize blood pressure fluctuations.
2. Medication and Health Risks
Excessive red blood cells (RBCs) lead to increased blood viscosity, raising the risk of blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, and pulmonary embolisms.
Excessively high hemoglobin (Hb) or hematocrit (Hct) levels can cause sharp spikes in blood pressure, headaches, and blurred vision.
Contraindications/High-Risk Factors: Uncontrolled hypertension, smoking, use of oral contraceptives, concurrent use of steroids, training while dehydrated, or a history of blood clots.
Combining these with androgens, growth hormone (GH), thyroid hormones, or stimulants exponentially increases cardiovascular risk.
Required Monitoring: Hb, Hct, RBC count, reticulocyte count, iron metabolism markers, blood pressure, and coagulation risk.
