Product Introduction

Vilon (Lys-Glu, KE dipeptide) is a synthetic dipeptide derived from the smallest active fragment of thymic extract thymalin, belonging to the classic class of peptide bioregulators. Unlike long-chain peptides, it acts directly on chromatin structure, regulating the transcription of immune-related genes, focusing on improving thymic function decline and balancing lymphocyte differentiation. As a tiny two-amino acid peptide, it has been widely used in basic research on immunosenescence and epigenetic regulation in recent years, often in combination with epithalonil for aging-related controlled experiments.

Core Advantages:

Its most fascinating aspect is its small size. Two amino acids, small enough to pass directly through the cell membrane and even the nuclear membrane, without the need for receptor-mediated endocytosis. The Khavinson team's model suggests it can directly access DNA, binding to the TCGA sequence, "untying" the flattened heterochromatin in senescent cells, and reactivating genes that have been shut down by aging-such as IL-2, PCNA, and SOD, which are related to immunity and repair. In cell culture, it can indeed induce de-heterochromatization in senescent lymphocytes, reactivating ribosomal RNA genes. In animal studies, it extended the average lifespan of mice and inhibited the growth of spontaneous tumors. More practically, its dosage is extremely low-tens to hundreds of micrograms per day, a 5-day pulse cycle, and one 20 mg vial lasting several months-making it relatively inexpensive among peptides. Furthermore, the dipeptide structure is simple, its synthesis is easy, and theoretically, batch consistency is more controllable than that of longer peptides.

But frankly, the evidence for Vilon is incredibly thin. All the key data comes from Khavinson's own lab, from gene expression to animal lifespan, to that single Russian aging study of 520 people-it's all "self-produced and self-consumed." Did an independent Western team replicate these DNA binding and epigenetic effects using modern tools? I searched PubMed thoroughly and found nothing. A dipeptide survives in the bloodstream for only a few minutes; how can it penetrate layers of barriers to reach the cell nucleus and find a specific DNA sequence? This pharmacokinetic "miracle leap" has yet to be verified by any imaging or tracing studies.

Even more unsettling are the changes in coagulation parameters reported in that aging study. This means it may interfere with platelet function or coagulation cascades, which is a potential minefield for those already taking warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel. Furthermore, while the 20-day study of 520 people reported "no major adverse events," what long-term toxicity can be observed in just 20 days? Immunomodulation is a sensitive topic; short-term safety doesn't guarantee long-term immune system health. Moreover, there have been reports of mild headaches, temporary fatigue, and injection site reactions in the community. Although few, the database is extremely small, and every case deserves attention.

Storage Conditions

Lyophilized powder original bottle: -20℃ or below, protected from light, sealed with desiccant, can last 24–36 months; for short-term storage, keep at 2–8℃, do not exceed 6 months. After reconstitution (sterile water/benzene-containing antibacterial water/physiological saline, slowly pour along the wall and gently rotate without shaking), store at 2–8℃, use within 4 weeks, do not refreeze, do not repeatedly freeze and thaw, aliquoting into single-use aluminum tubes is the most stable method. Dipeptides lack disulfide bonds and methionine, making them more durable than long peptides. However, in aqueous solutions, peptide bond hydrolysis is the primary degradation process. Higher temperatures and pH fluctuations (<5, prone to isoaspartate) will gradually degrade them, leading to poor quality. Discard any solutions containing turbidity or particles.

Precautions

Start with the lowest possible dose (67–100 μg/day subcutaneously, for 5 consecutive days, then stop for 3–6 months). Do not start with the high dose recommended by community clinics. For U-100 insulin injections, use the 0.01 mL setting for dosage calculation; visually estimating the vial size is a major mistake.

Redness and slight swelling at the injection site, along with fatigue, headache, and low-grade fever for the first two days, are normal noises indicating immune recalibration. However, persistent high fever, rash, shortness of breath, and joint swelling indicate a need to stop; do not try to tough it out.

Those with autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, MS), active lymphoma, thymic tumors, post-organ transplant patients, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, or those taking cyclosporine/tacrolimus/high-dose hormones should avoid this treatment; it is incompatible with immunosuppressants.

Research-grade powdered COA should be checked for HPLC purity (≥98%), endotoxin levels, and microbial contamination. Bottles without COA are just for show.

It is not the same as thymosin (a mixed peptide derived from animals), nor is it the same as epitalon. Use them in combination according to their respective cycles; don't combine them.

A long-term (>2–3 months continuous) human safety profile has not been established in English literature. According to bioregulator philosophy, it's a "short pulse," not a daily supplement.
