Tirzepatide is a synthetically produced, long-acting 39-amino acid modified peptide. As the world's first and only dual-receptor agonist of glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), it exerts multiple physiological effects by synergistically activating these two incretin receptors, including promoting glucose-dependent insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon release, delaying gastric emptying, and regulating central appetite.
Research Applications
It is primarily used in animal models of type 2 diabetes and diet-induced obesity to conduct research related to glucose homeostasis, insulin resistance, appetite regulation, and body composition intervention. Storage Method:
Store lyophilized powder in a sealed, dark, and dry place. It remains stable at -20°C, and its shelf life can be further extended at -80°C. Strictly avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, as moisture and light will accelerate the oxidation and inactivation of modified side chains. Do not freeze after reconstitution. It is recommended to aliquot and store at 2-8°C, protected from light, and use as soon as possible. If turbidity or precipitation occurs, it indicates peptide aggregation and degradation, and the product should be discarded immediately.
